Description

Proboscis monkeys have reddish-brown fur, long tails, pale bellies, and pot-shaped stomachs. Males are much larger than females.

Range

Proboscis monkeys are found only in Borneo, an island shared by Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei.

They live in: Mangrove forests, Riverine forests, Swamp forests and Coastal forests

Behavior

Proboscis monkeys live in groups, are active during the day, and are excellent swimmers. They often stay near rivers and sleep in trees at night.

Clouded leopards, crocodiles, pythons, and large birds prey on them.
