All About Sumatran Orangutan
Description
The Sumatran Orangutan has shaggy orange-brown fur, a long face, and very strong arms that help it swing through the forest canopy. Adult males may develop large cheek pads called flanges.
Size
About 4 to 5 feet tall.
Weight
Males: 110 to 200 pounds
Females: 65 to 110 pounds
Diet
Fruits, leaves, bark, seeds, insects, and honey.
Range
Found only on Sumatra, Indonesia.
Habitat
They live in tropical rainforests, especially lowland forests, swamp forests, and mountain forests with tall trees.
Behavior
Mostly solitary and active during the day. Builds nests in trees for sleeping.

About 8.5 months.

Tigers, pythons, leopards, and humans.
